The Information, Guidance and Professional Integration Office (Espace Avenir) helps you develop your career plan. From Monday to Friday, whether you have an appointment or not, come and talk to professionals in career guidance and placement to:

  • Review your existing skills and experience
  • Clarify your career goals (job market analysis, career awareness, etc.)
  • Effectively develop your communication tools (CV, cover letter, etc.)
  • Prepare for job interviews
  • Develop your network

Through the Alumni Network

Access job, work-study and traineeship ads free of charge on the Alumni Network website. Make your profile stand out in the candidate database to over 3,500 recruiters. Create alerts so you don't miss a thing. Take part in numerous events to meet experts in the sectors that interest you. You can also meet company representatives at the Traineeship & Employment Fair (Forum stage & emploi, website only available in French).

In a German- or English-speaking country

The Information, Guidance and Professional Integration Office offers support with your applications in English and German. You can make an appointment for the following:

  • Receive guidance on how to best present your application
  • Have your CV and cover letters proofread in English or German, and receive linguistic and stylistic advice
  • Take part in mock interview sessions in English or German
  • Find resources to help you better organise your search for traineeships and jobs abroad
  • Find out about language level assessment frameworks
  • Ask questions and discuss your career plans

To prepare your international applications, contact the Franco-German Career Placement Department (Mission insertion professionnelle franco-allemande, website only available in French) and take a look at the resources (webinars, tools, etc.) available on the intranet (Ernest).

The University of Strasbourg helps doctoral students to make the most of their skills, explore new opportunities and pursue their careers, whether in France or abroad. The Information, Guidance and Professional Integration Office (Espace Avenir) guides doctoral students through their professional transition by offering individual meetings, workshops as part of cross-disciplinary training, conferences on the PhD experience and various resources.

Career paths of University of Strasbourg graduates

The Regional Observatory of Higher Education and Student Professional Integration (Observatoire régional de l'enseignement supérieur et de l'insertion professionnelle des étudiants Oresipe) conducts annual surveys on the professional integration of graduates with a French University Diploma of Technology (Diplôme universitaire de technologie DUT), or a professional bachelor's or master's degree. It also carries out a biannual survey on the professional future of doctoral students. Below are results from some of the surveys:

  • More than 30% of professional bachelor's degree graduates pursue further studies after obtaining their degree
  • 92.2% of master's degree graduates were employed 18 months after obtaining their degree
  • 35,2% of doctoral graduates work internationally after obtaining their degree
